Gold rose to $629.50 per troy ounce in London, up from $629.30 late Monday. In Zurich, gold traded at $628.15, up from $627.93. Gold rose $2.15 to $629.55 in Hong Kong.
Silver opened in London at $13.83, up from $13.79.
